The English city that gave its name to Alabama's Birmingham is the latest scene of rioting in Britain. The unrest began in London on Saturday. Now English media and government leaders report it has resumed and is spreading today.
The ignition point appears to have been a police shooting, but some are blaming nemployment, insensitive policing and opportunistic looting for the worst violence London has seen in years, The Associated Press reported.
